Local & Regional Missions
As has been with so many Americans during this economic downturn, Jeannie and I have gained a new appreciation for the blessings the Lord has provided to us individually, to our family and to have the opportunity to be citizens of the United States of America. In navigating through these difficult times, we have found it necessary to reevaluate what is truly important to us. In doing so, we have been getting rid of the stuff and dysfunction accumulated over a lifetime. We choose relationships as the most important thing for us to focus on as we seek balance in our lives.
Part of our local mission outreach with Fishers of Men Ministries (a 501 (c)(3) charity that Jeannie and I founded in 1997) includes working with Five Rock Ranch (formally Flying M Ranch), a shelter that houses between 60-80 women and children. We have on several occasions provided healthy meals and instruction to the mom’s on the Habits of Health. We have been able to help many of the children with learning disabilities, moms with migraines, others with diabetes, and some with traditional neck and back pain utilizing chiropractic, functional neurology, nutrition and coaching.
Jeannie and I are new empty nesters. As we venture out of our community we try to engage with organizations where we are traveling to provide service. One such group was the Claire House in Anchorage, Alaska operated by Catholic Charities. On this occasion I was
able to provide chiropractic and neurological services along with life coaching to the residents in this shelter.
In caring for these people over these last years we are truly amazed at their determination to make a better life for themselves and their children. Their appreciation for our service is such a gift to both of us and strengthens our commitment to look for opportunities to help others who are struggling. One never knows the impact of a smile, a good word, and a kind deed may have in lifting the spirit of another so they might see their greater purpose.
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 2 (KJV)
