Have Arrived

Hi – Dr. Lawrence here.

I hope this email finds you in good health and in His Spirit. I have spent a portion of my first day in Guatemala trying to figure out Facebook and how to Blog on my FOM page (not working) after receiving the following link from a friend (worth the viewing time).

I know its time for me to wise up and get socially attached (I guess connected is the right word, Ha Ha 

I arrived in Guatemala last night to begin our mission trip on October 29, 2011 for eight days. Had some challenges at the Guatemala airport as my hosts had got stuck in traffic and were not there when I walked out to the curb. I had learned the day before that my 4G Smart phone from Horizon would not work in Guatemala. Anyway, out on the curb, no phone, no internet, no email, no problem with God.

Although the worldly man in me was freaking out a little (loco in Spanish) I was well served as I prayed for patience. I was led back through security about an hour later to a kiosk where a young lady, Dulce (sweet) Maria let me use her computer to retrieve my friend’s phone number in the states. He promptly answered the phone and as he was giving me my host Dennis and Cindy McCutcheon’s phone number (http://www.vineinternational.org/) when I was prompted to turn around and there at the exterior window was Francisco, my friend and fellow physician I had met with Dr. Joe on the Dominican mission.

I was found, had a great night’s sleep, got to know my hosts today and am ready to greet the rest of my mission mates who should be walking in the door any minute so I am signing off.
